Ireland Imp pairs 830pm every night ..24 boards but we can do 27 boards by request if the players will be willing to Zoom along. Swiss format.

The Ireland Imps Pairs is the best training session a pair can have for Teams. The boards are fairly exciting as I deal a few extra and throw out about 4 ordinary ones. You won't come away from an Ireland Imps pairs without some story.

Last night Wednesday in the absence of the all conquering Granda Tom we saw Enda Glynn and his dog take the victory with a nice 77 plus imps haul.
2nd place went to Mairead Haugh and Kathleen Hughes I think. I might have real names wrong but maitennis and katie121.
In 3rd place we had the rising stars of Malahide ......the kitkat sisters ...although still Inter B players.

Meanwhile the grapevine indicated that granda tom ran into a little bad luck as Sligos elite bridge players fought back.

Someone called planxky found a 4H that was unbeatable with a granda bid and granda had ground to make up.
Then Granda fired into 3NT and failed in the play of the cold contract. His play was not as good as his bidding. However Eamon is learning fron the granda ....

Here we see the granda open 1C with 2 pieces when he might open 1D with 3 pieces ...
Does he play the better minor or the 5 card majors or club can be short.
Then one sees the 2C response by the higheg with 12 hcp points and a 6 card clubs ...No alert no nothing ..whats the story here ... Surely 2C must be ALERTED .... ITS UNFAIR.

Above we see a hand from last night which caused a difference of opinion between North and South who would both consider themselves decent players.
