Declan the Donplayer hits a home run ..(bids 7NT), Bridge Now ratings

Declan the Donplayer a man who drinks locally in my area and who showed an interest in what I was doing in between my few pints on my laptop in the local community centre where I live.

He found me playing bridge online and indicated this is an interesting game can you show me the ropes. About 4 years ago I started explaining the stuff to him and sending a few links and other information on bridge.

This morning I woke up and went to play a few hands on

A hand came up and myself and the robot blundered into a 7NT contract. No problem as its got about 17 tricks on top .. so I managed to make the Grand Slam. However looking through the results I noted only 14 out of the 55 players bid and made 7NT. There in the middle of those 14 was Declan the Donplayer. I guess even in Declans world if you got 9 tricks and partner shows you 18 high card points ...you check they have no aces and you bid 7NT.

New players start at 1500 and a 70% week will only get you to about 1630.

So several good weeks are required to reach the top.

Active players have about 0.66% bonus added for turning up and playing

20 boards.

This week we have 32 inactive players in the published list.

13 of those will drop out if they don't play this week.

However its only for fun.
